Declutter Challenge Update

Kickin’ the collecting habit one box at a time! My box seems small this week, but the important thing is that I have a box to show you. I didn’t just ignore the elephant in the room. The elephant being this whole challenge thingy.

I love that I’m posting all this decluttering stuff. I know probably some people skip right over this post- and I can’t blame them. Especially if they don’t have a problem with keeping everything. This is a little bland for people that are naturally organized. But for those of us that struggle with collecting and organizing, this might be just the right kind of encouragement! It certainly is for me.

Let’s see this box.IMG_2180.JPGAh, yes. There it is. What’s in it?

The Contents

  • 3 balloon weights
  • 7 kitchen utensils
  • a book
  • small dry-erase board
  • 10 items of clothing
  • set of sheets

That’s it. 23 items. The grand total(so far): 294 items. Okay! We’re almost to 300. And…906 more items leaving our house will bring me to my goal. I probably shouldn’t have figured that out. A little daunting.

Are you ready to pass on the things you don’t use anymore? Remember that you don’t have to trash everything when you declutter- chances are good that someone else may enjoy or need things that you don’t enjoy or need anymore! Donate them to a thrift store, a church yard sale, or your local shelter. Sometimes it makes it easier to let these things go if you know someone else may benefit from your decluttering.

Are you feeling more organized? Are you clearing out? Doesn’t it feel good?
