Decluttering!

Aaand we’re back to the decluttering. Oh man. We went on a family trip for a wedding a couple of weeks ago¬†and I felt like there was more in our vehicle on the trip back home than there was at the beginning of the trip. That means it’s a great time to get back to the declutter challenge. (So sorry I dropped the ball on that for the past few weeks!)

I usually don’t list off the different types of clothing, but I wanted the list to look longer so I’d feel better about myself. It seems to be working. 20 items this week- pretty good. That brings the total to 347 items.

I’m going to be positive here- that’s 347 items that are no longer in my home. You know what? It has been over a month since I’ve posted on this challenge. That’s a month with no declutter boxes, and still I’ve managed to purge 347 items from our house. That is A LOT of stuff!

Okay, now for a little reality check. My goal is 1,200 items by the end of the year. Must keep moving…

Declutter Challenge Update

Have you been eyeing some dusty items and thinking,”Why do I still have this?” Me too!

This week’s box had a little help from DH. Yay! It’s always encouraging when your family joins you in clearing out. Yup.

  • 3 mixing bowls(nesting)
  • cheese grater with attachments
  • spatula
  • canned soda preserver(Weird, I know. I only tried it once…)
  • wine bottle opener
  • plastic food container with lid
  • travel mug
  • screwdriver set
  • 8 books
  • Bath & Body Works Smart Soap dispenser
  • bottle of hand soap

21 items. Add that to our running total of 306 and that brings us to 327. Okay. Slow and steady is my pace. Slow and steady wins the race. I’m just going to keep saying that to myself. Eh. ūüôā

Decluttering…

It’s Thursday and that means an update on my declutter challenge.¬†I went through a couple of dusty boxes in the cellar this week and consequently, I have a little¬†more to¬†go in¬†The Box¬†than I normally do.

That’s 38 items this week and that brings the grand total to 271. Slooowly making it to the goal of 1200.

Declutter Thursday!

This week at my house: widespread illness. Yes, it’s like a revolving door here. Once you think you’re better- there’s more! So maybe we can hope for better health in the new year.
